2015 is the Year of the Pajama Pant for me. In an effort to break out of my skinny jean rut, I started to hoard drawstring pants, and basically traded one comfort zone for another. Hashtag no regrets.
J.Crew has the best ‘drapey’ drawstring pants and dressy joggers in substantial fabrics with flattering cuts that easily go from work to weekend. I’m waiting for these slouchy wool pants to go on sale so I can snag them for winter.
Sidebar: Did you know you can sign up for sale alerts through ShopStyle? They send you an email (or push notification if you have the iOS app) as soon as the retailer discounts the item, saving you the hassle of constantly checking back or catching the sale too late when everything is sold out. It’s one of my favorite tools for shopping on a budget.
I got this silk dress for a steal from J.Crew Factory during a sale last month. It’s sold out online, but Off 5th has a cute striped style that’s really similar. Why is it so tricky to find cute dresses in natural textiles? A day in this breezy breathable dress reminds me to pay attention to fabric and construction, and to look for more basic silk dresses to add to my wardrobe.
I love Butter London’s ‘LIPPY’ long wearing liquid lipsticks. They’re super pigmented, packed with moisturizing shea butter and vitamin E, and paraben and phthalate free. I’m wearing ‘jaffa’ in this post, and Ulta’s ‘Take Me To the Tropics‘ set includes full sizes of ‘jaffa’ and three other summery shades for $30.
