I did a little Google detective work to see how to recreate it, and was surprised at how easy it is! All of the tutorials I found called for vodka or other clear distilled spirits, but we were fresh out. I used isopropyl alcohol instead, and it seemed to get the job done. I tried a quick and dirty version this afternoon to share it with you:

Found this on Stumbleupon, too…oh my GOSH it looks absolutely fantastic. Mine chipped and warped a little bit (that’s probably because I used old, cheap nail polish), but with that, it adds a faded, old-book feel to it. Hard to explain, but it looks fabulous. I did it on my fingers in a pinkish beige, and on my sister’s toes in a light coral-y nude. It looks fantastic! Thinking about doing a white base coat and transferring comic strips onto it… even if it were to be too big, it would add a pop-arty flair to it. Thank you SO much for making my nails look fantastic!
