Poet of Seamstress Stories tagged me with 10 questions. Here are my answers. If you want to play along, answer a question or two in a comment!

Q: What’s your favourite fashion accessory?
A: Structured, high-quality handbags with interesting details or bold colors. I always search for steals when shopping for clothes and accessories, but handbags {and shoes} are worth the splurge. They can make a low-budget outfit look like a million bucks.

Q: Who’s your fashion role model?
A: I have so many! Check them out on my blog roll over to the right.

Q: What do you always carry with you?
A: Pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. I always carry a huge-mongous handbag with all of my “necessities” organized in smaller makeup bags. Ridiculous amounts of lipgloss and lipstick (most of which I never use), makeup touch-up tools, iPhone [and charger, of course], and a myriad of other things. Maybe I should do an “In the Bag” post soon so you can see the extent of my daily purse hoarding…

Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Polished, modest, classic and tailored

Q: What’s your favourite? Jeans, sunglasses or heels?
A: Can’t live without sunnies in the sunshine state!

Q: What inspired you to blog about fashion?
A: I needed a hobby, and a way to channel my out-of-control shopping into something productive.

What is your favourite fashion store?
A: I love LOFT and Banana Republic. I like to mix their classic, tailored pieces with cool vintage/thrifted finds.

Q: What is your favourite fabric in clothing?
A: I want to live in Zoey Deschanel’s closet in the cotton commercial. {The touch… the feel…} At least 80% of my closet is made up of natural, washable fibers — especially cotton. It’s easy to care for, comfortable in the hot and humid climate I live in, and more eco-friendly.

Q: Who are your favourite designers?

A: I love the aesthetic of Tory Burch, Michael Kors, and Chloe!

Q: Who or what inspires your style?
A: My favorite bloggers and fabulous real-life friends. I also pay close attention to stylish women I come across in my day-to-day and take mental notes of the things that stand out to me. You can read more about my inspiration on my formspring

Q: Would you choose to buy something high quality or make it yourself if you could?
A: I really, really want to learn how to sew! Until then, I’ll have to go the retail route.

  1. >I completely agree that a nice bag or shoes can make an outfit! I've gotten caught up lately in buying too many bags and shoes, and I'm really going to start trying to do the quality over quantity thing. It's going to be hard though…who can really resist all the fabulous Target shoes out there??? :)I also carry everything around that I "need"; it's quite ridiculous! I always say I'm going to cut back, but it never happens (and most likely never will!). I'd love to see an "in my bag" post…I always really enjoy those.

  2. >How funny about the sewing…I used to sew all the time….I made tons of cute little outfits for my daughter when she was a little girl….havent touched it since….Im REALLY itching to get back into it!!!You should give it a try:)Enter my Wendy Hammer Designs Purse Giveaway♥Statements in Fashion Blog

  3. >Nice to read your 10 answers, and bravo for starting to blog against out-of-control-shopping! I sometimes felt pretty out of control, too, although I mostly thrift and buy bargains. So I'm subjecting myself to a shopping ban for a year.

  4. >I'm REALLY glad to know that I'm not the only one who packs everything BUT the kitchen sink! I have a work tote, purse, and lunchbox I carry everyday. In my work tote, I have at least two pairs of heels, flip flops, chargers, ipod, camera, at least two pairs of sunglasses, a jacket… on top of all the essentials in my purse! You just never know what you're going to need! That's my excuse! It's CRAZY, I know! LOL
