30 for 30: Four Loko

Some days it’s tough to be a style blogger. I mean, let’s be real.

For instance: You make a bad choice after a crazy day and long overdue lunch break. You find yourself in the McDonalds drive-thru in a hypoglycemic coma at 3:00pm ordering a super-value-super-calorie-super-size something {patting yourself on the back for declining the hot fudge sundae}. You get home and devour the contents of that familiar paper bag like it’s your last supper. Then in a bloated fast-food drunken stupor — oh you know what I’m talking about — you stagger outside to take photos of yourself. Which you’re going to post all over the Internet for all the world to see. You’re not exactly feeling cute and flirty and fancy-free. And you can’t seem to get it together, because you’re really tired and your brain is filled with MSG and grease. But you just have to stay on top of your 30 for 30, because durn it, we are not having a repeat of last time.

So you stand in front of the garage door and pout to your husband… “ugh, I just don’t know what to do with my arms. i can’t pose anymore. i’m not feelin’ it. i’m done. wah, wah, wah.” And instead of giving up and throwing the camera at you — which is probably what you deserve — he just keeps on a’ snappin’. Bless his heart.

And then things just get weird. Evidently, poor nutrition brings out the theatrical diva in you.

And as you [literally] run away, he’s still snapping.

That husband of mine would be a great paparazzo…

Tomorrow’s another day. Day five, to be exact. And we’re finishing this 30 for 30 on time, come hell or humiliation.
