AE sweater | LC Lauren Conrad pleated skirt (Kohl’s sale last weekend) | Target boots (2009)

I’ve always been kind of a “late adopter” when it comes to trends. I didn’t own an iPod until I got my iPhone a couple years ago, and I didn’t own a pleated skirt until last weekend. All my blogger buds seem to find them in abundance at their local thrift stores, but the ladies around here must hang on to them because I haven’t had any luck.

I found this one at Kohl’s for $20 when I stopped in on a mission to buy these pleated pleather shorts with some Kohl’s cash {gotta love a store that pays you to shop} and decided two pleated bottoms are better than one. It’s a great neutral color — kind of a dusty taupe — so I see lots of options for this little number…

  1. I’m the same way. I’m JUST now planning to purchase myself some Hunter boots. Hello trend from 2008. haha I like to think we don’t just jump on any band wagon and we need time to truly decide if it’s something we like or if it’s just a trend. Let’s just say that, mk? ; )

  2. the skirt suits you very well! love it! and this combination with light grey and brown boots is very beautiful! I’m also a bit late when it comes to trends, I can’t decide wheter I like them or not, and after I saw them on some people, normally I change my mind and run for the item – but then it’s no more “trend” or “new” but already “out” ;-) xxx Anita

  3. I know what you mean. Some things that I am still on the hunt for–leather shorts, capes and high waisted dark wash wide leg denim trousers. You look great here and I love the layering of the tights and socks with boots! Lovely!

    2. I like rthe tight/sock combo. At first I couldn’t tell you had tights on, but I like the texture/print.
