Just in case you’re in a mid-week funk and need a little motivation, here are some inspiring words from Gloria Steinem. I found this quote recently in a magazine — Glamour, perhaps? — and I loved it so much I wrote it down in an inspiration/idea-jotting notebook I carry around in my handbag.
“Whatever it is you want in the future, build it into your day today. If you want music and poetry and humor and revolution, build music and poetry and humor and revolution into each day, and you will get there.”
Outtakes: Chad and I take most of our photos for the blog in cool little spots around the shop. Most of our neighbors are used to these impromptu amateur modeling moments; half of them know about my blog and the rest of them probably just think I’m a raging narcissist. One guy even asked once, “I always dress nice, do you want to take my picture?”
Anywho, there’s a door about 3 feet to the right of where I’m standing, which happens to be the backside of the building next door. Mid photo-sesh, a nice lady I didn’t recognize walked out of said door and right into our “set.” Chad being the diligent photographer he is kept on snappin’. This is me attempting to wave and look friendly and harmless, as I’m pretty sure we scared the bejeezus out of her. No worries, ma’am. We’re just hanging out in this alley taking pictures of, um, me. Have a nice day!
