Confession: I am not the bravest pattern-mixing style blogger on the interwebs. When I wore this yesterday, I felt like I was blazing a trail in new mixology frontiers; floralsĀ andĀ stripes — quite daring for this conservative dresser, I thought…

Then I looked at the photos. And realized that the striped half of the equation is so subtle, from a distance they just look solid. There’s nothing trailblazing about florals and solids.Ā Clearly I need to step up my game.

However, if you’re not a trend-obsessed style blogger and just want to mix things up a little in your day-to-day, may I suggest adding a bottom of the teeny striped variety to your closet? They add just a little something to keep things interesting, but won’t overwhelm you if you’re a pattern-mixing newbie. Like me.

  2. I am at the point of being a somewhat timid pattern mixer…I’ve gotten more and more used to the idea, but I’m no Frassy yet, haha. I actually really like your seersucker and floral together, thought it made a charming combination! That colour is beautiful on you too :)

Following your blog…you’ve got great style and your posts are super fun to read!
