But it can be tastier than you think.
I try to get at least one green smoothie down the hatch each day. I love them in the morning as a natural energy boost and quick breakfast-on-the-go that keeps me full until lunch.
Last month, I picked up a Bella Rocket Extract Pro blender at Walmart. It’s a Nutribullet dupe at almost half the price, and so much better than my countertop blender: it easily grinds nuts and seeds, blends quickly and smoothly directly into durable BPA-free plastic tumblers (with convenient travel lids) and is super easy to clean.
{Because let’s face it, if it’s not convenient, I’ll just end up at Chik-fil-A for breakfast.}
I buy fresh organic spinach, bananas, and frozen fruit in bulk; and I keep a stock of coconut oil, ground flax, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and protein powder to mix in. For some reason, imagining I’m working with a sundae bar keeps me motivated. ;-)
I try to make different smoothies every day to keep things interesting, but lately, my favorite combo is a couple cups of spinach, a banana, 5-6 frozen whole strawberries, a little peanut butter, lots of ground flax, a tablespoon or so of honey, and cacao nibs blended with a splash of skim milk and ice.
