I snagged this silk tank dress from a J.Crew Factory sale years ago, and it’s still going strong as one my of favorite basics.
My cost-per-wear has to be in the negative at this point: I throw this dress on at least once a week, with ballet flats, flip flops, and block heel sandals; I wear it under jackets and boyfriend sweaters, and over swimsuits. It’s my ride-or-die LBD.
It’s made of crêpe de Chine, a lightweight durable silk that feels great on the skin and breathes like a dream in the summer heat and humidity. I would love to add a few more silk day dresses to the rotation this season, like Everlane’s silk tank dress, or Madewell’s ‘Ville’ or ‘Sandstar’.
I’m wearing it here with another favorite, my Kenneth Cole bucket bag from Hautelook last year.
I guess the moral of this post is: Invest in quality basics and accessories, and you’ll enjoy them for years!
Or wear them to death. ;)
What do you think?
