My Top 25 Sephora VIB Holiday Sale Picks

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the Sephora VIB holiday sale is here!

Sephora VIBs are registered Beauty Insiders who spend at least $350 in a calendar year. If you shop at Sephora, make sure you’re registered so you can earn points; they’re redeemable for free deluxe samples throughout the year, and depending on your spending level, qualify you for special discounts and promotions.

VIBs will receive 20% off everything online (with the code 20VIB ) and in stores November 11th through 14th. It’s the perfect time to restock your can’t-live-without products at a discount, or catch a break on the skin care and makeup splurges you’ve been dying to try.

Sephora VIB Holiday Shopping Event 2016

If you’re a registered VIB shopping the sale, working on your Christmas list, or just in need of some great new products to freshen up your beauty routine, I rounded up my top product picks at Sephora this season. These days, I’m most interested in effective anti-aging skin care, fuss-free minimalist makeup with lots of lovely glow, and great multitasking products to simplify my mornings (and cut down on clutter in my makeup drawer).

All items marked with ‘*‘ are products on my wish list that are highly recommended by beauty bloggers and editors, and the rest are tried-and-true favorites that I use regularly.

Skin Care

Tarte Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion :: My all-time favorite everyday skin care sunscreen (check out my Every Day Sun Care Tips post for a full review).

Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer :: A super lightweight hyaluronic acid balm that emulsifies into water droplets on contact with your skin. Great for daytime hydration under makeup.

Sunday Riley Power Couple Duo: Total Transformation Kit:: I’ve been dying to try Sunday Riley’s skin care, and this kit contains two of her most iconic products that combines lactic acid and trans-retinol ester treatments to exfoliate and brighten the skin.

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel:: A daily two-step peel in convenient pre-soaked pads packed with powerful, yet gentle, exfoliating acids for improved skin texture and treatment of fine lines.

Caudalie Polyphenol C-15 Overnight Detox Oil:: 100% plant-based dry oil that mops up free radicals and toxins while you sleep, which is when our skin does the majority of its turnover and healing.

Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask:: An antioxidant-rich hydrating mask with Kombucha, and a Sephora best seller with over 30,000 ‘loves’ on Sephora.com.

Makeup

Face

Hourglass Ambient Light Correcting Primer:: A light correcting primer that blurs, smoothes, and perfects the skin with Hourglass’ signature soft, subtle glow. I used a sample of this and loved it: it wears beautifully under foundation, or alone on ‘no-makeup’ days when your skin needs a little boost.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation :: In a word: obsessed. This is so easy to apply and blend; it literally disappears into skin for a flawless finish. Coverage is buildable and long-wearing, and it’s formulated with time-released hydration so it feels comfortable all day.

NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer :: When you want more coverage than a BB cream, but less than a foundation, this is the perfect middle. It sets to a glowy finish and has SPF for added protection, making this a great choice for everyday wear. I love trying new products, but I always go back to this tinted moisturizer; I’ve used it for years.

bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream :: This has a beautiful sheer coverage like a BB cream, with a dewy finish that’s great for normal to dry skin. It also contains some hydrating skin care ingredients, so you’re killing two birds with one stone; I usually skip moisturizer on the days I use it. Oily or combination skin types may find this too greasy.

Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer:: An all-in-one waterproof formula that’s hydrating and super pigmented: you can thin it out with moisturizer for sheer coverage, use it as a concealer or spot treatment, or apply it as a full-coverage foundation.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder :: The holy grail of setting powders, amen.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer :: This sweet smelling powder is the most natural-looking bronzer I’ve ever used; it’s foolproof. (Benefit’s Hoola bronzer is a close second.)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit – Surreal Light* :: Every year, Hourglass releases a limited edition holiday palette of their beautiful light-reflecting highlighters, bronzers, and blushes, and every year, I want it. If you’re into a soft and subtle “lit-from-within” glow, this is your jam.

NARS blush :: They’re iconic for a reason: these sheer, super-fine pigmented powder blushes are each designed with a subtle pink undertone for a natural-looking flush that brightens the face. They’re easy to apply, build, and blend, and can be worn alone or layered together for customized color.

Eyes

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner :: This liquid eyeliner has a superfine brush for effortless application. The formula goes on super black and opaque, and stays where you put it all day: it doesn’t budge, fade, or flake.

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette :: All the neutral mattes and shimmers you need for easy daytime looks and smoldering smokey eyes.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette* :: Kat’s shadows are notoriously silky, blendable, and pigmented, and this matte palette is on the top of many beauty favorites lists.

NUDESTIX Nude(art)ist Magnetic Eye Box Set* :: Waterproof neutral eye shadows that I can draw on with a pencil and smudge out with my fingers? Yes, please.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara :: A lengthening and volumizing mascara that glides on without a clump every time and doesn’t smudge, transfer, or flake.

Lips

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask :: I keep a tube of this nourishing antioxidant lip mask on my nightstand and slather it on my lips every night before bed. I’m on a matte and liquid lipstick kick right now, which magnifies every flake and flaw and leaves my lips pretty dry at the end of the day. This helps keep them hydrated and smooth.

NARS Audacious Lipstick :: Worth the splurge: creamy formula, intense pigment, beautiful color selection, and long-wearing. (Plus the magnetic black packaging feels so luxe.)

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner:: You can use these pigmented pencils to line your lips, or fill them in with color for a long-wearing, feather-proof pout.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil :: A favorite in my makeup bag, this super-pigmented pencil has a hydrating matte finish — oxymoron? — that wears comfortably all day. It also contains a boatload of resveratrol, a free-radical fighting antioxidant, so it’s beautiful and beneficial.

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick :: A put-it-on-and-forget-it formula that wears beautifully for hours and hours. You know how some liquid lipsticks feather and crack throughout the day? This doesn’t. (And the shade selection is incredible.)

What are your favorites at Sephora right now? I’d love your recommendations!

  1. I have had the Sunday Riley set in my loves on Sephora forever but I can’t get myself to spend that much on it! I’ve also been looking at the Make Up For Ever stick foundation, every time I text it in store it blends so well and it makes me want to buy it! I just picked up the Sephora Favorites Glow For It set and I love all the products inside, their Sephora Favorites sets are always such good deals!

  2. I am absolutely obsessed with NARS products!! Got myself a foundation and concealer a few weeks ago and I’ve been hooked :D
love all the products you got though
I’d love if you checked out my blog if you can <3

  3. Every time I see a post like this I wish I shopped at Sephora more! NARS is probably the one thing I go in there to try out all the time.
