My Top Loft Picks

A few years ago, LOFT rose to one of the top spots in my list of favorite places to shop. I can always rely on them for great basics to wear to work at the flower shop, and my closet is stocked with their pants, sweaters, utility blouses and vintage soft tees. The best thing: there’s almost always a sale, and when I catch the 40-50% off storewide sales, I stock up for the season.

I gathered up some of my favorite versatile staples from LOFT’s current lineup. If you’re interested in creating a winter capsule wardrobe, these pieces are a good place to start. I’d fill in the gaps with a great pair of black pants, a couple tees, a utility blouse in 2-3 colors, and a super-soft black swing dress to make endless outfit combinations through the season.

Tops

Black camisole tops are my newest must-have wardrobe staple. They’re the perfect versatile layering piece that you can dress up or down under jackets and sweaters. I love the delicate lace detail on this one!

I’m also really into black blouses with unique details, like trumpet sleeves or an off-the-shoulder halter; both of which easily go from day to night by with a quick change of pants, shoes and accessories.

Sweaters

I may have a legitimate addiction to buying oversized, cozy sweaters, which is a problem because I live in Florida and we hardly ever get the opportunity to wear them. I just can’t get enough super-soft chenille pullovers, open cardigans, and boxy sweaters in wintery whites.

Pants

LOFT skinny tie waist pants LOFT Leggings Sateen Five Pocket Marisa Fit

In an effort to break out of my denim rut, I picked up a pair of tie waist skinny cargos and sateen leggings in two neutral colors during the Black Friday sale. The sateen leggings were a favorite for me last year, so I’m glad they’re back this season; and we all know I’m not afraid to buy something I love in every color.

I went for petites in both styles so they’d be the perfect ankle length, and as usual when I buy petite LOFT pants, I sized up to ensure a good fit through the waist and hips.  (I typically wear a regular 4-6, and went with an 8P, which fit perfectly.)

Denim

I usually have great luck with LOFT denim, so I couldn’t resist trying out two of their new styles: the performance denim legging and the modern vintage straight jean. These are two silhouettes that I’m really into right now; I love super-tight jeggings under long sweaters with booties, and straight jeans feel really fresh and cool with cropped sweaters and mules, or polished with t-shirts and blazers with pumps.

Outerwear

If I didn’t live in the sunshine state, I would be all over this faux fur collar utility coat! Two jackets that would be perfect for light layering are the faux suede moto jacket and market jacket, so I’m keeping an eye on loft.com for the next 40-50% off everything sale to scoop them up.

  1. I too am an avid Loft shopper. Their skinny cord pants are so so good. I got the Hunter Green pair recently.
