The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opened to the public this morning, offering up big discounts on clothing, shoes, accessories and beauty. I mentioned in Monday’s post that I wanted to avoid the temptation of the sale, but I had my eyes on this cinnamon-colored faux leather jacket*. I snagged it this morning for almost 50% off*, then decided to seize the opportunity to grab a couple more things for my fall capsule wardrobe.
Here are the 3 things I bought from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

I went into the sale with a small list of things I wanted for my fall capsule wardrobe. A sleek pair of black leather booties with a pointed toe and block heel were high on the list. These Steve Madden ‘Nadalie’ booties* tick all the boxes for my ideal basic ankle boot. The heel is just 3″, so hopefully these will be a a comfortable pair for running around the flower shop.
They’ll be perfect under straight leg ankle jeans or paired with easy midi skirts/dresses.
In my opinion, BLANKNYC makes some of the best vegan leather moto jackets*. They’re thick and structured like a real leather jacket, and a great basic for your wardrobe. I love the sleek style — there aren’t too many buckles, zips, or bells and whistles. The look is clean and streamlined, but still a little edgy.
Throw it over a t-shirt and jeans, or a simple dress, and it instantly elevates a basic outfit. The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is the perfect time to get one at a big discount.
Extra Petite styled this cinnamon-colored moto jacket in a post last weekend, and I knew I had to have it. She and her mom both wore it and made it look so expensive and chic. So two things: it’s a great staple for every age; and it’s a versatile piece you can dress up or down.
I didn’t realize I needed a pair of snake print ankle boots in my life until The Anna Edit showed me what I’m missing. Anna always includes a pair of statement boots in her autumn capsule wardrobes, and they really kick up a super basic outfit.
I think the trick is finding a sleek shape with a low heel. These Sam Edelman Daruby booties* will do nicely! I love the chunky block heel (always more comfortable) and slightly squared toe. They feel modern, but also hint at the 90’s nostalgia that sneaks into all my style preferences these days.
