I’m six weeks into my summer capsule wardrobe and loving it. I think I’m ready to go full-capsule-convert and commit to paring my closet down into seasonal edits of a few dozen pieces. (Keep an eye on my Poshmark closet; I’m about to fill it up.)
Here’s why I’m so into the capsule wardrobe life. First, fewer options make it infinitely easier for me to put outfits together in the morning. Plus, it inspires me to get more creative with mixing and matching. And most important, it seriously reduces the itch to buy new stuff.
Although I have a month left of my summer capsule wardrobe, I’m already making a mental list of an autumn edit! I bought a few pieces from the Nordstrom anniversary sale to fill the holes in my closet for the season, but don’t plan to buy much else. My closet is flush with with sweaters, jeans, outerwear, and shoes for fall.
Guys, I can’t encourage you enough to give a 30×30 remix a try. Especially if, like me, you find yourself easily distracted by shiny new things and want to hone your style. The gist: take 30(ish) seasonal pieces from your closet, and commit to wearing and remixing only those pieces for at least 30 days.

A footnote: I reach for my jeans way less than I expected! Not to toot my own horn but *toot toot* — I think I picked a really good mix of pieces in this round. Maybe my best yet?! For a complete list of the 34 items in my summer capsule wardrobe, click here.
