where’s wilma?

Windy City Trench c/o Ruche | Angel Ankle Skinnies c/o DL1961 | striped tee picked up on a clearance rack a while ago | Hampton Drop Earrings c/o Posh Locket | Nine West sandals | DIY glitter pouch Today was cah-razy, ya’ll. Easily the busiest day we’ve had at the flower shop since Christmas, with lots of new people checking out the consignment boutique, too. Even though I’m completely exhausted and can hardly form coherent sentences, I’m so thankful for each of our customers and excited to see APP’s brick-and-mortar sister growing into her own! Now for some advice: throw a trench coat over just about anything, and you can’t lose. Even when you’re wearing a t-shirt that you could’ve easily borrowed from Waldo’s girlfriend and a simple pair of jeans. This one is on sale at Ruche for $39.50! Annnnd, that’s all I got. See you around here tomorrow for a super simple tutorial on that glitter pouch I’m clutching…

snoods and nostalgic moods.

AE sweater | LC Lauren Conrad pleather shorts | handmade snood c/o Seams to Be | Colby boots c/o MIA Shoes | HUE heather gray tights My Nan — my Dad’s mom and the best grandmother in the history of grandmothers — had a small collection of handmade afghan blankets. When I was little, I loved cuddling up with the colorful knitted throws and watching Disney movies on repeat. {Who else can sing every word to every song on the Little Mermaid soundtrack?!} I wish I’d kept one or two of those super-special blankets after she passed away. Thanks to Lyndsay and her cute Etsy shop, Seams to Be, I’ve found the next best thing! Lyndsay sent me this adorable handmade snood scarf and a darling knitted hat, just in time for some seriously chilly weather. This snood is so soft and cozy, and reminds me of Nan’s blankets. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside (and outside). Thank you, Lyndsay! Be sure to check out her shop. You can also find Lyndsay on her …

baby it’s cold outside!

Windy City Tote c/o Ruche | Calvin Klein leopard sweater | Tommy Hilfiger button-up | INC gray zipper skinnies | Apt. 9 midcalf boots (Kohl’s sale) Tuesday I was wearing shorts with bare legs. Cut to two days later, and it’s full-on fall gear. ‘Tis the season for seriously unpredictable Florida weather. Fa la la la la, la la la la!  Doak loves this change in the weather. I worked from home today [I left my car keys at the shop last night, thereby stranding myself after C left early this morning] and he spent the majority of the day outside. The chill in the air brings out the frisky puppy in him, making him extra sweet and adorable. And a little uncooperative…

Feather by Feather Headband c/o Sproos | Romeo & Juliet Couture faux leather jacket (Hautelook last year for $39) | embellished tank (Beall’s Outlet, $3.50) | Tommy Hilfiger black skinnies | Michael Kors ponyhair leopard wedges (Macy’s clearance a few years ago)    This is the first time I’ve worn a headband since… I don’t know when. 1994? I loved a good piece of headwear as a wee fashionista. And even though it’s been a while,  it didn’t take much to rekindle the flame. I feel like a fancy headband has the same power as a statement necklace. You can pair it with really simple basics and voilà, instant cute outfit. Sproos has a darling selection, and they’re offering all APP readers a 15% discount with the discount code “Keira“.
