It’s been over a year since my last Taking Stock update, so I’m doing a grrreat job of keeping up with this “monthly” series. (*Palm to forehead*) I always enjoy looking back on these posts as little snapshots in time, so let’s bring it back! Making : a mess in the kitchen as I try to get
You guys… This is my thousandth blog post! A ‘taking stock’ post seems perfect for this milestone, yeah?
Making : snapchat stories with behind-the-scenes peeks at the flower shop, my favorite style and beauty stuff, and lots of Doak updates. ;) Username: keiralennox Drinking : bucketfuls of iced tea in my Corkcicle tumbler. It keeps ice frozen for 9+ hours, and I don’t go anywhere without it lately. Watching : a lot of YouTube beauty
New year’s resolution: crank out a Taking Stock post once a month in 2016.
Making : progress on our flower shop move to-do list. We’re less than two months out, and besides a refrigeration guy telling me our old walk-in cooler may not survive another relocation (awesome) it’s all coming up roses. Hoping : someone’s selling a decent walk-in cooler on Craigslist… Baking : #pumpkineverything! I love this recipe for pumpkin muffins with dark
Making : an effort to wake up earlier, give myself time to enjoy mornings, and start the day less groggy/frazzled. Cooking : pre-made frozen gourmet dinners from a local caterer (best idea ever). I buy a week’s worth of meals at a time, stock them in the freezer, and pop them in the oven after work. If you
Making : prom corsages ’til my fingers fall off. Cooking : more veggies after watching Fed Up last weekend. Drinking : Tazo ‘Organic Peachy Green’ over ice by day, Blue Moon First Peach Ale by night. I have a thing for peaches, I guess? Reading : The Bell Jar and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Wanting : good news on a potential business
Making : goals for 2015. Not to be confused with resolutions; we all know I’m not giving up sugar and trashy reality TV, or hitting the gym err-day. Cooking : lots of takeout? Drinking : Moscow Mules in the copper mugs I bought myself my husband for Christmas. Recipe: Tito’s vodka + ginger beer (spring for the good stuff)
Making : homecoming corsages and boutonnieres. Cooking : lots of crockpot dinners, like this healthy chicken chili. A note: I don’t cut the chicken breast into chunks like the recipe suggests; I toss whole frozen boneless breasts in there and cook it for 5-6 hours on high until the chicken shreds easily. It’s easier and delicious-er. Drinking :
